Marilyn Doxsee

BOONE, Iowa—Marilyn J. Doxsee, 95, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She had been a resident at Eastern Star Masonic Home since 2015.

Marilyn was born on October 16, 1927, in Cambridge, Ill, the daughter of Oscar and Lillian Dahlgren. She graduated from Cambridge High School in Cambridge, Ill. On December 21, 1944, Marilyn was united in marriage to Fred T. Doxsee.

Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boone, read voraciously, and loved embroidery and tatting. She sewed over the years, even making her own square dance dresses.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 2012 and their son Steven Eugene in 2009.

She is survived by her children: Wayne T. (Alice) Doxsee, Cheryl D. (Luis) Sanchez, and Fred T. Doxsee, Jr.; grandchildren: Rachael Doxsee, Joshua Doxsee, Bryan Doxsee, Aimee Jeanette, Eric Doxsee, and Ladislao A. Sanchez; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone, with Pastor Adam Gordon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Linwood Park Cemetery following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Boone First United Methodist Church in Boone.
