RIPPEY, Iowa—Kathleen (Hodges) Jackson, age 84 of Rippey and formerly of Boone, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Aspire of Perry.

Kathleen Anne was born the daughter of Edgar and Edna Hodges in Boone on March 22, 1938. She attended Ogden Public Schools.

Kathy was united in marriage with Delbert Brown and from this union were two children, Terry and Rhonda. The couple later divorced. Kathy was later united in marriage with Merle Jackson.

Kathy was a member of Rippey United Methodist Church. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always ecstatic when she received pictures of them. Kathy enjoyed listening to country music (never missing the CMAs) and finding deals at yard sales and thrift stores. She loved attended carnivals and fairs- Tulip Festival in Pella, the Iowa State Fair and the local county fairs to list a few. When Kathy lived in Boone, she walked every street in town. Recently being in the nursing home, Kathy enjoyed playing BINGO and winning all the candy prizes.

Kathy was preceded in death by her first husband; son, Terry Brown; grandson-in-law, James Wallace; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Morris (Jeremy Harkreader) of Arkansas; grandchildren, Melissa Wallace (Tim Stoneburner), Amy (Merle) Simpson, Stacy Morris, Jason Morris and Justin Morris; great grandchildren, Cody, Colleen and Hope Simpson; Angel and Austin Wallace and Ethan and Nathan Morris; great-great grandchildren, Paisley, Remi and Brynlee Simpson and Beau and Millie Simpson; brothers and sisters, Dale, Jim, Linda, Laura and Pat.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
