BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa State Patrol has identified the two women that died as a result of a traffic accident on the south side of Boone, Friday afternoon about 5:00. The preliminary crash report indicates that a vehicle, operated by 55 year old Pamela Borkowski of Boone, Iowa was stopped at the stop sign on Southeast Marshall Street and Highway 30. According to the report, Borkowski proceeded south across the westbound lanes of Highway 30 when she was struck by a pickup driven by 20 year old Joshua Lantz of Pella, Iowa.
Borkowski and her passenger, 32 year old Stephanie Borkowski of Boone, Iowa were pronounced deceased at the scene and their bodies were transported to the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. Lantz and two passengers from the pickup were transported to the Boone County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Boone Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Boone Fire Department Fire and Rescue and the Boone County Hospital Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
