DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has released the second Spring Flood and Water Resource Outlook for the end of February into May. It includes rivers and tributaries in north central , central and south central Iowa. The third outlook will be released March 9th.
The first briefing showed a chance of slight minor flooding at several locations including the Des Moines River at Stratford. That has not changed, especially with the snow pack in southern and southwestern Minnesota. It was also noted that there are new considerations for the Mississippi River following this week’s snowstorm.
