DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service this week released updated information of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The data from early in the week continues to show improvements in drought conditions. Even though it’s winter and there’s usually very little change, precipitation events since mid-February have had an impact. Locally, Boone County remains Abnormally Dry with about 15% of the county listed in Moderate Drought. That’s located in the northwest corner of Boone County. Statewide, the northwest part of the state continues to see reduced Extreme Drought.
