BOONE, Iowa—The Boone A&M FFA Chapter hosted the 2023 North Central District FFA Convention at Boone High School on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Over 500 FFA members, advisors, and parents attended the event representing 40 schools in the North Central District. 14 competitive events, known as Leadership Development Events (LDEs), were held in addition to a Business and Awards Session. Jim Fitzgerald, ag instructor and FFA advisor at Boone High School, completed his year as the 2022-2023 NC District Advisor coordinating the District Convention along with the other events over the past year for the 3,000 FFA members in north central Iowa. Results for the Boone A&M FFA Chapter include:
Karli Herrstrom, senior at Boone High School, won 1st place in the Chapter Website LDE and advances to the state competition.
Six senior members received the FFA Academic Achievement Award: Karli Herrstrom, Jacob Judge, Kylie Mackie, Trent Overturf, Cidney Tidgren, and Trysten Ward.
