STRATFORD, Iowa—Donna Lee Robinson, 90, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She had been a resident of Stratford Specialty Care since April 2021.
Donna was born on January 8, 1933, in Stratford, the daughter of Clifford and Irene (Angstrom) Carlstedt.
She graduated from Stratford High School in 1950. On January 3, 1954, she married Benjamin Robinson
at the Stratford Lutheran Church. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Boone. They owned
and operated the Tip Top Sandwich Shop for five years in Boone. In 1975 they moved to Stratford. Donna
worked at Leeds Grocery and then Stratford Family Pharmacy, where she worked until 2011.
Donna was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed
dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Robinson; daughter, Karin Hickcox; and sister, Martha
Carlson.
Donna is survived by her son, Kurtis Robinson of Des Moines, IA; son, Kim (Holly) Robinson of Stratford,
IA; grandchildren: Chad (Gina) Hickcox of Ankeny, IA; Stacey Hickcox of Nevada, IA; Kristopher Robinson
of Des Moines, IA; Shelby Robinson of Webster City, IA; Zachary (Amanda) Robinson of Jewell, IA; six
great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Stratford Lutheran
Church, with Pastor Alex Zenk officiating. Interment will be at South Marion Cemetery in Rural Stratford
following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Stratford Lutheran Church.
