BOONE, Iowa—Dale Lebo, 71, of Boone, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. His death was from a severe car accident that happened on June 20, 2022. After a long rehabilitation from Traumatic Brain injury, he went to be with his Heavenly Father. Dale was born in Boone, Iowa on February 17th, 1952.
Dale married Deborah Majors, the love of his life, on February 21, 1970. Together they struggled through hard times and enjoyed good times. Life was tough and challenging since they married so young, but they worked hard together to make a successful life.
On August 10, 1970, his treasured daughter Toni Lebo Tullis (Michael) of Nevada, Iowa was born. When in high school, Toni practiced pitching to her Dad, who would sit on a bucket to catch the softballs. He suffered many black and blue shins. Dale volunteered at the Boone National Little League Park in Boone and built press boxes, poured concrete, and umpired.
Dale and Deb enjoyed numerous vacations traveling to their Time Shares with many of their close friends. They enjoyed bowling, boating, and fishing. Dale and his brother liked to hunt. They both raised German Shorthaired Pointers. He also had a love for motorcycles and his 1500 Kawasaki.
Dale was employed by the Iowa DOT for many years. He wanted to learn a trade, so he performed an apprenticeship at Krug Builders; as a result, he became a distinguished carpenter. After Krug Builders closed, Dale went to work for Boone Construction, and also drove a semi for Boone Freight and Decker Truck Line, until his retirement in 2020.
Dale is survived by his wife Deborah and his daughter Toni Lebo Tullis (Michael), brothers Kenneth and significant other (Liz Pratt), of Nevada, and Robert (Connie) of Madrid, and sister and brother in law, Donna and Joel Jones of Boone, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
