BOONE, Iowa—Robert Kenton Reutter, 84, of Boone, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Boone Open Bible Church, 1224 Hancock Drive, Boone. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Robert was born July 10, 1938, in rural Boxholm, one of four children to Elliott and Hazel (Clark) Reutter. In his youth, Bob caused a lot of mischief at the cemetery and creek, near his home. After the family home was destroyed in a fire the family moved to Pilot Mound. Bob spent his time hunting, fishing, and trapping. He graduated from Pilot Mound High School.
Bob was united in marriage to Joan Curry and they had three children, Brent, Karla and Blake. His work career began as a bridge builder in Iowa. Bob’s dream job began with Quad States Construction, building grain elevators throughout the Midwest.
Bob was an avid mushroom hunter and traveled throughout the United States, Canada and the world. He was very strong willed and could build anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan and son, Blake.
Bob is survived by his son Brent (Sheri) Reutter; daughter, Karla Reutter; grandchildren, Ashley (Mike) Redeker, Blane (Liz) Reutter, Josie (Seth) Billyard, Gage Reutter and Grace Reutter; six great-grandchildren; brother, Randall (Janet) Reutter; sister, Marie (Roy) Ferrari and sister, Lynda Benson.
Memorials may be given to the Boone Hunt & Fish Club or Boone Open Bible Church in Bob’s memory.
