BOONE, Iowa—Three Boone orchestra students were selected to receive a partial scholarship to attend the Luther College Dorian Summer Music Camps in June.
Genivyve Foster, a middle school viola player from the class of 2027, child of Andrew Foster, received the Boone Middle School Orchestra Dorian Scholarship. Genivyve is looking forward to learning how to play the viola more expressively and playing with more experienced musicians.
Quinn Patterson, a high school violin player from the class of 2025, child of Brian and Heather Patterson, received one of the Boone High School Orchestra Dorian Scholarships. Quinn is excited to play in the full symphony with winds, brass, & percussion, and to take music theory and composition classes.
Paxton Burch, a high school viola player from the class of 2026, child of Benjamin and April Burch, is another of the Boone High School Orchestra Dorian Scholarship recipients. Paxton is looking forward to growing as a musician in the ensembles and classes, and enjoying the sense of community that the camp provides.
The Middle School Summer Camp will be held June 11-17, 2023. The High School Summer Camp will be held June 18-24, 2023. Luther College hosts the Dorian Summer Music Camps in Decorah, Iowa each June.
