BOONE, Iowa—Earlier this week, a Drinking Water Advisory was issued and affected about 50-homes according to Boone Public Works Director Waylon Andrews. Wednesday he said tests were being done and it was hoped the Advisory could be lifted and that happened today with this announcement:
Customers of the City of Boone Water Supply who were notified on 5/30/23 of a pressure loss
in our system and were advised to boil their water before using for drinking. We are pleased to
report that the work has been completed and the bacteria sample were satisfactory (contained
no bacteria). It is no longer necessary to boil your water before use. We apologize for any
inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
