BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Wide Clean-up will begin Monday, June 5th on the northside of the city. Public Works Director Waylon Andrews says they will use the same route they have over the past several years. He has encouraged residents planning on putting items on the parking to do that early, because once the crew pickup items goes by, they will not return. Andrews also says they will take appointments to pickup appliances and tires but there is an associated cost and that needs to be scheduled and paid for by 3:00 p.m. on June 12th. The cost is what’s charged for bringing appliances and tires to the Boone County Landfill. The Boone County Board of Supervisors did approve waiving the tipping fees for 65-tons at the landfill. It’s estimated the cleanup could reach that amount in the first week. City Wide Clean-up information is on the second page of the City’s April Newsletter.
