BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council’s Economic Development Committee will consider a proposed agreement with Kading Properties of Urbandale for a housing development on property in the southwest part of the city. Kading Properties offered a proposal for a development on 15-acres they wanted to acquire from the city. The purchase proposal was received in January with Kading indicating the construction would be for 100 units of housing as one phase, owned and professionally managed as rental housing. The proposal included a mix of unit sizes in a combination of bi-attached, four-plex, and six-plex and potentially single-family building structures. The Council’s Economic Development Committee will review the agreement and could make a recommendation at the Council meeting this evening. A request to rezone the property is also expected.
