Sandra Shaw

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—Sandra Shaw, 86 of Ogden, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Israel Hospice House in Ames.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Sandra Kay McFarland, daughter of Claire (Marjorie Bullock) and Dorothy McFarland, was born on the family farm south of Webster City on September 22, 1936. She attended White Elephant Country School and graduated from Stratford in 1954. On February 24, 1955, Sandra was united in marriage to Richard Dean Shaw in Des Moines.  She worked for the Community State Bank in Paton for 21 years, and farmed for may years alongside her husband.

She is survived by daughter, Debra (John) Berger of Diagonal; sons, Michael (Sherry) Shaw of Ogden, Rollie Shaw of Jefferson, Gaylin (Debbie) Shaw of Grand Junction, Terry (Amy) Shaw of Colo; grandchildren, Wendy, Shane, Kaylin, Jenna, Troy, Kendall, Ashley, Alissa, Dani, Becky, Jacob, Payton and Jackson; numerous great- grandchildren; sister, Zelda Allcott of Van Meter and several nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2011; her parents and grandson, Chance Westergaard.

She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, doing yardwork, watching racing, playing basketball and worrying about her whole family.
