BOONE, Iowa—Todd Howard Harrington, 57, of Boone, passed away peacefully Monday, August 14, 2023, at home after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his bedside.
A Celebration of Life will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in the Pioneer Room at Cobblestone Inn & Suites, 1900 Lakewood Drive, Boone. Please enter the building through the front doors.
Todd was born November 18, 1965, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Larry and Ramona (Howard) Harrington. He attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1984. He then attended and graduated from DMACC in Ankeny with an AA Degree in Building Trades.
Todd was united in marriage to Jill Flugstad on June 11, 1988, in Ogden, Iowa. They made their home near Boone until they built their piece of paradise on the edge of Boone and had two children, Logan and Morgan. Todd was employed for 34 years with Besser Quinn Machine & Foundry in Boone, kept busy doing roofing, carpentry jobs, and had T&L Pattern Shop.
Todd coached his nieces’ and daughter’s little league and his daughter’s all-star and AAU team for a number of years. He was blessed to coach his granddaughter’s t-ball team in his last year of coaching. Todd had a love for animals, hobby farming, and camping. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and two fathers-in-law, Dale Baker, and John Flugstad.
Todd is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jill Harrington; son, Logan Harrington; daughter, Morgan (Jared) Eslinger; three grandchildren, Adaline Marie, Hudson Dennis, and Cameron Dale Eslinger; niece, Jessica (Cody) Huffman; great niece and nephew, Macee Wisecup and Clinton Huffman; parents, Larry and Ramona Harrington; sister, Carol Harrington; mother-in-law, Nancy Baker; two nieces, Cassie Bunning and family, and Ashely Beary and family; and many extended family and friends.
