BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the district’s new early childhood center, the Ledges Elementary School on Hancock Drive. Students from Pre-School, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade will be housed in the new building. School Board President Jeremy Pritchard said a lot of effort went into making the new building possible and it was made possible when school district patrons supported a $23 million dollar bond issue in a special election in March 2021. Staff is still moving into classrooms but are expected to be ready for students next week. A formal open house is planned in October during Homecoming for the Boone School District.
