DES MOINES, Iowa—There was some improvement in the U.S. Drought Monitor map this week. That direction won’t continue with the hot and dry conditions expected over the next several days. There were a few areas that actually improved quite a bit, but northeast Iowa was not one of those areas. Boone County remains Abnormally Dry.
