BOONE, Iowa—Barbara (Brewer) Lilly, 95, of Boone passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

A private family service will take place at Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone.

Barbara was born January 5, 1928, in Chariton, Iowa, the daughter of Lyman and Olive (West) Brewer. She graduated from Chariton High School in 1945, and then continued her education at Iowa State University.

Barbara was united in marriage to Paul Lilly in 1947. They made their home in Boone and were blessed with three children.

Barbara was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, 50-year member N.P. P.E.O and served on the board of Directors of the Boone County Hospital for 17 years and was a member of the hospital auxiliary. Her greatest love was her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul in 2006; and daughter, Marsha Jo Cory in 2018.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Scott (Marti) Lilly of Frederick, Maryland, and James (Maria) Lilly of Dallas, Texas; son-in-law, Barry Cory of Clear Lake, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either First Presbyterian Church, 703 Greene Street, Boone, IA 50036, or Suncrest Hospice, 5959 Village Dr. #100, West Des Moines, IA 50266.
