Boone Man Charged in Connection with Ames Shooting Incident

AMES, Iowa—Ames Police have arrested and charged a Boone man in connection with a shooting incident in Ames on September 21st. The arrest came as the result of an ongoing investigation into the shooting in the 3800 block of Tripp Street in Ames shortly after 9:00 that evening. Officers located a male victim who was hospitalized.

Tuesday, Ames Police announced that 28 year old Vashawn Kejoun Green of Boone was arrested and charged with:

• Attempted Murder, a Class B felony, Iowa Code section 707.11(1)

• Dominion/Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by a Felon, a Class D felony, Iowa Code section 724.26(1)

A criminal charge is an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
