Green Announces Re-election

KWBG 11/09/23

BOONE, Iowa—Iowa Senator Jesse Green today announced his campaign for a second term in the Iowa Senate to represent voters in District 24. Senate District 24 includes all of Greene and Boone counties and a portion of Story and Dallas counties.

“When I ran for the Iowa Senate in 2020, one of my biggest goals was to give all Iowa parents the same choice in education available to me. I frequently tell people I benefited from both a public and private education. I was privileged to have those options and desired that every child should have the same opportunities. Instead of complaining about it, I ran to make a difference.” said Senator Green. “I was proud to play a part in advancing school choice for all Iowans in addition to so many more policy achievements during my first term in the Iowa Senate.”

“The legislature has made huge strides in controlling property tax growth, cutting income taxes, and reducing needless regulations on Iowans but more work remains to be done. I look forward to continuing to reduce the tax burden, improve Iowa schools, and expand freedom for Iowans.”

Senator Jesse Green is a fifth-generation farmer, born and raised just outside of Harcourt. He farms corn, beans, oats, hay. He also raises bucking horses for rodeo and riding purposes, and longhorn cattle for roping with his father, brother and nephew. Green previously has taught Bible classes to 5th-8th graders at Community Christian School in Fort Dodge. Senator Green is currently volunteering by teaching a class on discipleship at Trinity Lutheran School in Boone.

Senator Green has been engaged in his community since joining the Webster County Farm Bureau and the Dayton Rodeo and Celebration Committee at age 24. He served the Dayton Rodeo for over six years in various positions including chairman for many of those years. He is the youngest chairman in Dayton rodeo history, which spans over 80 years. Additionally, he received the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance Top 10 Under 40 Young Professionals Award in 2017 and he is on the Central Iowa Expo board.

Senator Green resides in Boone and was first elected to the Senate in 2020.
