BOONE, Iowa—Karen (Kerm) M Hicks, 80, of Boone, Iowa passed away on December 27, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, surrounded by family. She is survived by her Life Partner, Marc Hines; brother, Myron (Julie) Oliver of Boone, Iowa; daughter, Jodi (Rick) Bothwell of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son, Terry (Michelle) Hicks of Grimes, Iowa; three grandchildren: Drew (Monica) Hicks of Des Moines, Iowa, Casey (Max) Willett of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Britni (Matt) Schiltt of Castle Pines, Colorado; four great-grandchildren: Rees and Jack Willett of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Olivia and Carson Schlitt of Castle Pines, Colorado; other relatives; and many friends.

A private family service will be held on Thursday. The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, 609 7th Street, Boone, Iowa. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone, Iowa.
