OGDEN, Iowa—Connie Illene Mullin, 77, of Ogden, IA on January 4, 2024, surrounded by family, lost her battle, of Pneumonia that lead to sepsis infection that turned to Septic Shock and 2 Strokes.
She was Born on Dec 4,1946 in Boone, IA to Vaunita M (Logue) & Bernard A Welch. She was the oldest child of 8. She attended Boone Community Schools, the Class of 65.

She met Larry Mullin in Boone and they were married October 30,1964 They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this fall. They lived briefly in Webster City, Boone, then in Ogden, IA. Where they purchased a home, raised their children, enjoyed their grandchildren, great grandchildren, & their dog Dolly. They attended the Ogden Methodist Church.

Her jobs included babysitting, detasseling, & running crews of detasselers for many years. She was in charge of the Ogden pool. She enjoyed driving children to and from school, to sporting events , and field trips. She loved her job and had hoped to complete 50 years of driving bus. She supervised senior class trips to Washington DC. She ran a business that cleaned multiple buildings, including the bank, church, city hall, and community building in Ogden and also took care of cemetery lawn at Sweet Valley for
multiple years. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed stamp collecting with her daughters, and canning fruits & vegetables, from her garden, with her son. She organized annual Christmas parties for her siblings and their families & helped with planning annual family reunions for her mothers family.

After receiving her fathers genealogy from his mother, she researched her mothers’, father-in-law & mother-in-laws’ family genealogy. She had a passion for quilt making. She made many quilts for family & friends. Quilts for babies, weddings and designed one special guilt for her mothers birthday with handprints of all the children & Grandchildren of the family. She also donated some for fundraising raffles for the head start program. She enjoyed reading books. She planned & navigated multiple vacation trips with her husband and dog Dolly, to see many different sites and parks throughout Iowa and surrounding states.

She is survived by her husband Larry Mullin Sr. Ogden, son; Larry Mullin Jr.(Mary) of Ogden, daughters; Mary Hunter (Anthony -Memphis ,TN), Pamala Thomas both of Boone. Grandchildren; Patrick Mullin (Crystal), Roman Malone (Abbey) both of Boone, Antonio Mullin of Des Moines, Crystal Mullin (James Ward) of West Des Moines. Great grandchildren; Lucas, Hayden, Henry, LynnLee, Laristopher, Luke, Loctivia. Brothers and Sisters; Kenneth Welch (Marlene) of Maxwell, Leslie Welch (Beverly) of Altoona, Kathren Jipson (Eugene) Crossville TN, Brian Welch (Suzanne) Turo, Sherrie Derry (Michael) of
Boone, Brett Welch (Becky Karabinas) of Topeka KS, Missy Creel (Rob) of Rio Rancho New Mexico, Carol Thorn of Ft Dodge, Janet Marking of Sun City West, AZ. Aunts & Uncle; Donna & Gerald Westberg, Marion Rogers, & Millie Logue all of Boone and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother in law; Leroy & Thaila Mullin, son in law Joe Thomas, brother in laws; Jim Marking & Jerry Thorn aunts & uncles; Vern & Mary Welch, Don & Illene Westberg, Don Rogers, John Logue and grandparents.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date, due to illnesses being passed around.
