The Iowa Traction Railway

BOONE, Iowa—Mike Wendel, Museum Director at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum, is kicking off the 2024 series of Railroad Programs. The first one will be Saturday afternoon. Eric Fogg, Ex-Frisco brakeman and long-time rail fan, will present a free program called The Iowa Traction Railway Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad, 225 10th St. in Boone, IA.

Eric will present a ZOOM and simultaneous “live” in person program at the museum. He will share insights and photos of this distinctive, electrically run railroad known as the Iowa Traction Railway (ITR). This unique 10 mile long electric freight hauler offers lots of history, and recently won a prestigious national award. Be sure to attend this informative rail presentation.
