BOONE, Iowa—Boone Mayor Eli Stines visited the Boone County Board of Supervisors Wednesday, updating the County Board on some of the city’s activities. Pending street projects leading the way. Meanwhile, the Supervisors used the opportunity to present a check to Stines. The Supervisors explained in a post on the Boone County Facebook page:
In 2018, Boone County and the City of Boone entered into a 28E agreement to cooperatively encourage construction of targeted new residential housing in Boone through shared City/County property tax abatement.
With Mayor Elijah Stines in attendance at today’s board of supervisors meeting, Boone County took the opportunity to present him with its most recent tax abatement contribution check for $7,722.
Cooperation between our local governments has a strong and growing history of success in establishing both commercial and residential housing growth across Boone County.
