NORWALK, Iowa—Fareway Stores, Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony yesterday for its new relocated store in Norwalk. Fareway built an approximately 24,000 square foot store located at Chatham Avenue and Highway 28 to replace the original location.
“We are excited to further serve the thriving community of Norwalk with a new, larger, and updated store,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We want to thank the community and local officials for their support in continuing to support of Fareway.”
“Area residents have been eagerly anticipating the new relocated Fareway store with some of the freshest meat and produce in the market,” said City of Norwalk Mayor Tom Phillips “Thank you for continuing to serve and invest in the community of Norwalk.”
The new store will provide for what Norwalk area customers have come to know and expect at Fareway – only the best in fresh, highest quality meat; a full-service butcher counter; farm-fresh produce; low, competitive prices; and the highest level of customer service, including to-your-car carryout. This new location boasts a fresh look and feel, with more natural lighting and updated interior, as well as better vehicle accessibility and flow. An addition to the new store model includes the use of solar panels, standby power generation, and soon-to-come upgraded EV car charging stations. The store will continue to offer FastLanes and online ordering with convenient, curbside pickup can be found at Shop.Fareway.com.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Fareway’s commitment into Norwalk,” said Norwalk Executive Director Lauren Ebensteiner. “As we continue our efforts to make Norwalk a great place to live, work, and play, Fareway’s new store will play a key role in that mission.”
The store will be managed by Grocery Manager Craig Choate and Market Manager Todd Hanson. The location opens to the public on Wednesday, February 7 during normal business hours of 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
