Kahookele Apparent Winner in Special Election

BOONE, Iowa—Lisa Kahookele is the unofficial winner in the race to fill the vacant Third Ward Council seat on the Boone City Council. Kahookele record 215 votes to 161 for Tracy Anderson. Kahookele and Anderson were seeking to fill the unexpired term of Eli Stines who stepped down when he became Mayor. The results are unofficial until canvased by the Boone County Board of Supervisors next week. Kahookele would then be sworn in at the next Council Meeting on March 18th.
