Boone’s Ledges Elementary Honored with MII Appreciation Award

KWBG 04/11/24

BOONE, Iowa—Boone Community School District is thrilled to announce that Ledges Elementary
School has been honored with the Masonry Institute of Iowa (MII) Appreciation Award.

This award recognizes Ledges Elementary’s outstanding contributions to the masonry industry and
its impactful presence within the community. Seedorff Masonry, Inc. nominated Ledges Elementary
for the award in recognition of their outstanding work and collaboration on the project.

The MII Appreciation Awards celebrate excellence in Iowa’s construction projects that prominently
feature the work of MII member contractors or utilize material suppliers from the institute. Eligible
projects demonstrate significant achievements in masonry assemblies, including landscaping and
segmental retaining walls. Awards are based on various criteria, such as contributions to the
masonry industry, community impact, visual appeal, construction detailing, and workmanship.

The award ceremony took place at the MII Annual Meeting, where recipients, including the project
owner and designer, were presented with recognition plaques acknowledging their achievements.

Ledges Elementary’s receipt of this award underscores Boone CSD’s commitment to quality,
durability, and aesthetic excellence in its facilities. The project was recognized for its significant
contributions to the masonry industry, positive community impact, visual attractiveness, meticulous
construction detailing, and superior workmanship.

“We are immensely proud of the recognition Ledges Elementary has received,” said Julie Trepa,
BCSD Superintendent. “This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaborative
spirit of all those involved in the project. It reflects our commitment to providing exceptional learning
environments for our students and staff. We are grateful to Seedorff Masonry for the nomination
and to the Masonry Institute of Iowa for this honor.”

Boone CSD extends its appreciation to all project partners and looks forward to continuing its
mission of creating inspiring educational spaces. The district invites the community to join in
celebrating this prestigious recognition and the ongoing success of its schools.
