BOONE, Iowa—Friday night will be the first of five planned Nights on the Green in downtown Boone. Kris Blocker, Visit Boone County, said last week the first one will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and is sponsored by Landus. There’ll be free music on the stage with Jake Doty and Hawk McIntyre. Scott Amusements is scheduled to bring in a couple of rides for the kids (free by the way) and Mr. Z from the Ericson Public Library will be on hand. For those wishing to eat, there will also be food trucks.
As a reminder, Story Street, from 7th to 9th Streets and 8th Street to Allen Street will be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Those driving downtown should plan accordingly.
