BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public Works and the Parks Department are moving quickly to get started on the planned Story Street Downtown Mill and Overlay Project. The first thing up is the removal of the larger trees at select locations downtown. Work began on tree removal between 7th Street and 9th Street will be Wednesday and Thursday. There are temporary road closures while the work is being done.
Public Works has also released information about the project with the first phase beginning Monday, June 24th.
