BOONE, Iowa—Kevin J. Anderson, 72, of Boone, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Open Bible Church, 1224 Hancock Drive, Boone. Burial will be in Boone Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Kevin was born July 27, 1952, in Boone, the son of Bernard and Gladys (Swanson) Anderson. He graduated from Boone High School with the Class of 1971. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and playing with his grandchildren. He was great at fixing things and fabricating tools to make life easier for himself and his family.

Kevin was united in marriage to Nancy Doran on December 24, 2003. He retired in July 2023, from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Barbara Murphy, Tom Anderson and Mark Anderson; daughter, Angela Anderson; son, Jesse Anderson; and grandson, Christian Thornhill.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nancy Anderson of Boone; step-son, Jeb Doran and his wife Nicole LaTessa of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Josette and Jasper Doran; sister, Denise Laws of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Brian (MaryKay) Anderson of Boone; numerous nieces and nephews.
