Raymond Gene Lundberg was born on April 13, 1939, in Boone, Iowa, to Clarence George Lundberg and Elsie Bell (Toller) Lundberg. On June 27, 1963, he married Anne Sharon Doran in Story City. Together, they shared 61 years of love and memories.
Raymond was a talented residential and commercial painter, known for his meticulous attention to detail and passion for his craft. His artistic eye extended beyond painting, as he also found joy in restoring antique furniture, breathing new life into timeless pieces. A proud and dedicated grandparent, Raymond rarely missed any of his grandchildren’s events. He traveled the country with his family, creating cherished memories filled with adventure and laughter. His love for Bigfoot and his knack for telling jokes brought joy and smiles to everyone around him. Raymond’s presence, unwavering support, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Anne (Doran) Lundberg of Boone; two children, Luann Huss and her husband, Mark, of Boone, and Renae Bragg and her husband, Les, of Anamosa; his nephew, who was more like a son, Randy Doran and his wife, Amy Erickson-Doran, of Garner; and two grandchildren, Adelaide Paris of Saint Paul, MN, and Sarah Melsha of Cedar Rapids, along with many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elsie Lundberg; his siblings, LeRoy John, Ilene Marie, Clarence Lloyd, and Laura Ellen; and his faithful pal, Jane.
As Raymond’s tools and brushes are set aside, we find comfort in knowing he’s now painting the skies. While his work on Earth may be complete, his spirit will continue to bring color and warmth to the heavens above.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Raymond’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com.
