DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 5 cents, averaging $3.06 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.06 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $65.82.
- Brent crude oil fell by $4.15 and is currently priced at $69.23.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $87.28 and Brent crude was at $91.97.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.06 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 88 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.25, down 7 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 5 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.39.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.26 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 26 cents lower than the national average of $3.65.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.08 for U87-E10, $2.37 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.18 for ULSD#2, $2.45 for ULSD#1, and $1.96 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices rose 13 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.32/MMbtu.
- Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
