The Toreador swimmers notched two victories Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Perry. Boone topped Algona, 102-60, and Perry, 81-77.
Senior Avery Overland won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:20.81. The other Toreador winning her event was sophomore Avery Howie who won the 500-yard freestyle in 6:13.02
Boone also won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:53.99. The team was comprised of freshman Sara Gute, sophomore Claire Enabnit, Howie and junior Tessa Gute.
Individuals placing second for Boone were senior Brooke Lile in the 200-yard IM in 2:34.95, Enabnit in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:10.44 and Sara Gute in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:05.01.
A pair of relays also placed second. The 200-yard medley relay of Howie, Overland, Lile and junior Rachel Ungs ended in 2:02.22. The 400-yard freestyle relay of Ungs, Sara Gute, Tessa Gute and Overland finished in 4:26.80.
The wins bring Boone to 2-0 in dual meets and 5-7 overall. The Toreadors next travel to Des Moines Lincoln on Saturday, Sept. 28.
