Ogden boys win Greene County Invite

Ogden senior Jude Benbow cruised to a first-place finish at the Greene County Cross Country Invitational in Jefferson Thursday, Sept. 12. 

The Bulldog boys, rated No.3 in Class 1A, won the meet, scoring 29 points. Six athletes finished in the top 10 runners for Ogden. 

Benbow’s time of 17:06 was a personal best. Senior Brady Van Sickle finished 4th in 17:50. The Bulldogs also took 7th to 10th place with senior Caden Lerdal crossing in 18:30, freshman Myles Tromblay ending in 18:44, junior Palmer Hickingbottom finishing in 18:45 and sophomore Thomas Bergstrom ending in 18:46. 

The Bulldog girls also competed in the Greene County Invitational. They finished in fourth place with 92 points. 

Senior Samantha Lass finished 7th in 23:21 while senior Addison Trusler placed 8th in 23:40. Junior McKenzie Spencer ended in 17th place in 25:06, sophomore Brylie Hicks was 38th in 31:46 while freshman Ava Wohlwend finished 41ist in 33:46. 

Other participants at the Greene County meet were Denison-Schleswig, Greene County, Southeast Valley, South Hardin, Perry and Panaroma. 

The Bulldogs will next be one of 30 schools at a meet in Holstein on Saturday, Sept. 14.
