Sophomore Emma Thomas finished 10th and was named a medalist for the Boone cross country team at the Ballard Invitational in Huxley on Monday, Sept. 16.
The Toreador girls finished 8th and the boys finished 9th in Class A.
Freshman Lynneah Pickering placed 36th for Boone in 24:45.3, while sophomore Bry Morgan placed 38th in 24.54.9.
Rounding out the scoring for the Toreadors were freshman Morgan Chesnut in 42nd place in 25:19.9 and sophomore Poppy Malone in 48th place in 27.15.6
Junior Dorian Myers led the way for the boys and finished in 25th place in 19:17.3.
Next in line were sophomore Calvin Cook in 45th place in 20:42.6, senior Kyan Lehman in 53rd place in 21:38.3, sophomore Sam Chesnut in 54th place in 21:41.3.
The remaining runners earning points were sophomore Kam Lehman in 56th place in 21:52.6, junior Simon Enabnit in 59th place in 21:55.6 and sophomore Pearson Lampe in 61st place in 22:17.7.
Other teams competing in Class A were Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Bondurant, dear Bondurant-Farrar, North Polk, Ballard, Winterset, Indianola, Webster City and Atlantic.
Winterset won the girls’ meet while Adel-DeSoto-Minburn won the boys’ meet.
Next week Boone will run at Humboldt on Monday, Sept. 23.
