The Madrid volleyball team had a busy evening at home as it hosted a quadrangular on Monday, September 16. The Tigers won a couple sets, but they lost the matches.
Madrid lost to Glidden-Ralston, 17-21, 22-20, 15-9, lost to Pleasantville 11-21, 21-10, 15-11, and lost to Collins-Maxwell, 21-13, 21-14.
Four Tigers served better than 90% for the night. Sophomore Iyla Fine was 21-22 for 95%, freshman Rylin Velky was 17-18 for 94%, freshman Savannah Bradley was 16-17 for 94% and freshman Caia Byriel was 13-14 for 92 %.
Sophomore Paige Richards nailed 3 service aces.
Junior Samantha Springer recorded 12 assists, and Velky had 8. Junior Lauren Dvorak pounded 8 kills, and Fine had 2.
Richards led the defense with 62 digs over the evening as Dvorak notched 6 blocks.
The loss drops Madrid to 1-7 on the season. The Tigers travel to Truro tonight to take on Interstate 35 in West Central Conference play.
