DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has released updated information about the potential for strong to severe storms with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats. A tornado or two may occur, though the potential is low. This weather is projected across central Iowa, though the highest potential remains over northern Iowa. Timing on the storms will be later this afternoon and tonight. Friday is expected to be quiet, but rain is in the offing over the weekend.
