The Madrid football team continued its winning ways as it beat North Mahaska, 41-6, in New Sharon on Friday, Oct. 11.
Preston Wicker ended the night going 8 for 12 with 172 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.
Jake Sawyer had 1 21-yard reception for a touchdown, Emerson Bridgewater recorded 1 10-yard reception for a touchdown, and Jevyn Severson had 2 receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown.
Wicker also had 18 carries for 143 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, while Loken Velky recorded 1 carry for 11 yards and 1 touchdown.
Additionally, Easton Halverson had 8 carries for 47 yards, and Will Atkinson ended with 7 carries for 16 yards.
For the Tiger defense, Wicker recorded 5 tackles and 1 sack, and Halverson had 5 tackles.
Atkinson contributed 4.5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery.
Velky and Ruben Harshbarger had 1 interception each.
Madrid improved to 5-2 overall and 5-0 in District 6, Class A.
The Tigers play Wayne at Corydon (5-2 overall and 3-2 district) in the final regular season district game Friday, Oct. 18.
