Tigers open post-season play with win

The Madrid football team opened post-season play and beat North Tama, 41-6, on Friday, October 25, at Madrid. 

The Tigers were up, 21-0, at the half. Madrid scored twice in the 3rd quarter and once in the 4th quarter to end the game, 41-6. 

Preston Wicker was 5 for 10 for 180 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. 

Her also led the rushing with 16 carries for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. 

Will Atkinson had 4 carries for 68 yards and 1 rushing touchdown, while Easton Halverson had 13 carries for 62 yards. 

Loken Velky had 2 receptions for 58 yards, including 1 touchdown, and Toryn Severson had 1 44-yard touchdown reception. 

For the Madrid defense, Velky and Toryn Severson had 1 interception each. 

Wicker, Halverson, Atkinson and Severson had 5 tackles each. 

The Tigers improve to 7-2 overall and advance to host Pekin (8-1) on Friday, November 1.
