The Boone swim team placed 5th at the North Central conference meet on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Grinnell.
Newton-Colfax-Mingo-Pella won the meet with 387 points.
Avery Howie was conference champion in the 100 back, winning the event in 1:01.35.
Howie also was 4th in the 50 free in 26.06.
Brooke Lile was runner-up in the 2nd 200 IM with a time of 2:30.74.
Lile also took 8th in the 100 breast in 1:18.99.
Claire Enabnit placed 5th in 2 events, the 200 free in 2:17.77 and the 100 butterfly in 1:09.60.
Dani Goudie ended in 8th place in the 500 free in 6:26.59, and Tessa Gute was 9th in the 100 free in 1:04.83.
Hailey Olson placed 3rd in 1-meter diving with a score of 292.25.
The top Toreador relay was the 200 medley of Howie, Lile, Enabnit, Tessa Gute, finishing 4th in 2:01.81.
The 400 free relay of Sara Gute, Tessa Gute, Lile, Avery Overland placed 5th in 4:19.88, while the 200 free relay of Howie, Enabnit, Tessa Gute, Sara Gute placed 6th in 1:51.78.
Teams competing at the meet were Newton-Colfax-Mingo-Pella, Grinnell, Oskaloosa, Decorah, Boone, Williamsburg and Vinton-Shellsburg.
Boone will swim at the regional meet on Saturday, Nov. 9, at noon at Ames.
