Ames Police Continue Homicide Investigation

KWBG 01/24/25

AMES, Iowa—Earlier this week, Ames Police updated information on a homicide investigation. At approximately 6:30 p.m., on January 18, 2025, Officers were dispatched along with medical to an apartment in the 200 block of South 5th Street in Ames. Upon their arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center where he died. The deceased was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer for an autopsy. The victim has been identified as Parker L. Stoneburner, age 25, of Boone, Iowa.

No arrests have been made, however tips received continue to be reviewed by investigators. Residents in the area of the shooting are encouraged to review home doorbell or surveillance video for suspicious activity from 6-7 p.m. on January 18.

The Ames Police Department continues to investigate this incident.
