Boone boys beat Ames, dominate freestyle races

The Boone boys’ swimming team defeated Ames in a meet against Ames and Fort Dodge Thursday, January 24, at Ames. 

The Toreadors continued to dominate the freestyle races with 3 individual and 2 relay wins. 

Warren Williams won the 200 free in 1:45.43, breaking a school record while Isaac Clark won the 50 free in 20.73 tying an Ames pool record. 

Boone went 1-2-3 in the 100 free with Williams finishing 1st in 48.20, Carson Muggenberg finishing 2nd in 49.96 and Simon Enabnit finishing 3rd in 50.43. 

Those 4 combined to win both the 200 free relay in 1:27.84 and the 400 free relay in 3:19.08. 

Clark was also champion in the 100 back in 53.75. 

Chase Mueller finished 2nd in the 100 fly in 57.81, and Calvin Cook finished 2nd in the 100 breast in 1:07.80. 

The 200 yard medley team of Coopen Jensen, Cook, Cooper Santi and Carden Nerem finished 2nd in 1:47.91. 

Cook finished 3rd in the 100 IM in 2:15.48 while Bryan Anderson was 4th in the 500 free in 5:27.58. 

Boone has a few days off before hosting the conference meet at noon Saturday, February 1, in Boone.
