The Boone boys’ basketball team lost to Gilbert, 76-57, Friday, January 24, in Raccoon River Conference play, in Gilbert.
The Toreadors were only down by 1 at the end of the 1st quarter, 16-15, and was down 36-30 at the half.
The Tigers pulled away and increased the lead to 59-42 at the end of the 3rd quarter and won the game, 76-57.
Braden Brooks led all scorers with 23 points on 9 field goals and 5 free throws.
Hendrix Moorman was in double-digits with 10 points on 4 field goals and 3 3-pointers, and Tyson Shivers had 8 points on 4 field goals and 3 assists.
For the defense, Shivers led the way with11 rebounds and 2 blocks
Brooks grabbed 9 rebounds and 2 steals, and Jude Baumgardner had 3 rebounds.
Boone falls to 7-7 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
Gilbert improves to 9-4 overall and 8-3 in the conference.
Boone heads to Carroll (7-7, 3-7) Tuesday, January 28.
