The Madrid boys’ basketball team remains undefeated in both the conference and overall as they beat West Central Valley, 81-34, Friday, January 24, in Stuart in conference play.
The Tigers charged out to a 25-8 lead after the 1st quarter and were up, 50-16, at the half.
The score was 69-20 at the end of the 3rd quarter with Madrid winning, 81-34.
Toryn Severson led Madrid with 24 points on 9 field goals, 4 3-pointers and 2 free throws.
Fabian Ortiz-Alaniz scored 18 points on 6 3-pointers, and Jevyn Severson scored 17 points on 6 field goals and 5 free throws.
Brody Buck was the other Tiger in double figures, 12 points on 5 field goals and 2 3-pointers.
Ortiz-Alaniz had 6 assists while Toryn Severson and Emerson Bridgewater had 5.
For the defense, Bridgewater had 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals.
Toryn Severson grabbed 6 rebounds and 2 steals, and Jevyn Severson had 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
Madrid improves to 15-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference while West Central Valley falls to 4-13 overall and 2-9 in the conference.
The boys’ next opponent is Panorama (2-13, 1-10) on Tuesday, January 28 at Madrid.

The girls’ game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game at about 7:30 p.m.
