5 individual events, 1 relay qualify for state swim

Isaac Clark and Carson Muggenberg qualified for state in 2 individual events, and Warren Williams qualified in 1 individual event at the Iowa High School Athletic Association district swim meet Saturday, February 8, in Ames. 

Boone also had one relay, the 400 free, qualify for state.  

Clark won the 100 back in 52.35, and he is seeded 7th for state. 

Clark placed 2nd in the 50 free in 20.77, and Muggenberg was 4th in 21.68. 

Clark is seeded 2nd in the 50 free for state, and Muggenberg is seeded 10th

Muggenberg placed 3rd in the 100 free in 47.55 and Warren Williams was 7th in 49.62. 

Muggenberg is seeded 8th in the 100 free for state, and Williams is seeded 31st

The 400 free relay of Muggenberg, Williams, Simon Enabnit and Clark finished 2nd in 3:12.31. 

That relay is seeded tied for 5th at state. 

Unfortunately, the 200 free relay of Muggenberg, Clark, Enabnit and Williams was disqualified for an early take off and therefore did not qualify for state. 

The Iowa High School Athletic Association State Swimming Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 14 and 15, at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City.

A number of other swimmers competed in the district meet. 

Top finishers for Boone are as follows: 

The 200 medley relay of Cooper Jensen, Calvin Cook, Cooper Santi and Carden Nerem finished 6th in 1:46.56. 

In the 200 free, Williams placed 7th in 1:51:08, Enabnit placed 9th in 1:53.31 and Nerem finished 10th in 1:54.88. 

In the 200 IM, Chase Mueller finished 13th in 2:15.92, Wesley Schuler placed 14th in 2:25.39, and Tristan Bierwagen placed 15th in 2:25.66. 

In the 100 fly, Mueller placed 5th in 57.11, and Santi placed 7th in 59.04. 

In the 500 free, Cook placed 8th in 5:26.79, and Addison Blackman finished 12th in 5:48.13. 

In the 100 back, Santi placed 4th in 58.32 and Jensen finished 8th in 1:00.70. 

In the 100 breast, Cook placed 12th in 1:08.05, and Schuler finished 13th in 1:08.56. 

Boone finished 3rd with 268 points. West Des Moines Valley won the district meet with 468 points.
