All 5 starters scored in double figures again for the unbeaten Madrid boys’ basketball team as it topped Interstate 35, 86-38, Friday, February 7, at Truro.
The Tigers led 21-11 after 1st quarter and were up 49-19 at the half.
By the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 74-26 and Madrid won, 86-38.
Toryn Severson led all scorers with 31 points on 9 field goals, 1 3-pointer and 12 free throws
Jevyn Severson had 16 points on 7 field goals and 2 tree throws, and Brody Buck had 13 points on 5 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Fabian Ortiz-Alaniz and Emerson Bridgewater had 11 points each.
Ortiz-Alaniz had 5 assists while Buck and Jevyn Severson had 4 assists each.
For the Tiger defense, Toryn Severson had 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
Jevyn Severson had 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Buck had 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Madrid improved to 19-0 overall and 14-0 in the West Central conference.
I-35 fell to 8-11 overall and 5-6 in the conference.
Madrid will host Don Bosco (16-4) tonight at 7:30 p.m.
