Carly Busch qualified for state in 4 sprint events for the Boone girls’ track team at the Class 3A state qualifying meet Thursday, May 15, in Nevada.
Busch won the 100-meter dash in 12.34 and the 400-meter dash in 58.52.
She also finished 2nd in the 200-meter dash in 25.96.
The sprint medley relay of Taylor Arringdale, Mia Graeve, Avery Howie and Busch also finished 1st in 1:50.37.
Additionally, Jen LaMar was 2nd in the discus with her throw of 110-09.
Events finishing 1st or 2nd at the state qualifying meet advanced to state for Class 3A.
Boone finished 3rd overall with 99 points, and Gilbert won the meet with 166 points.

The Toreadors will now prepare for the Iowa High School Track & Field Championships, set for Thursday-Saturday, May 22–24, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
