DES MOINES, Iowa— Landus, Iowa’s largest farmer-owned cooperative, is launching a nationwide search for its next Chief Executive Officer. Since April, the Board of Directors and interim CEO Sam Caton have met with farmer-owners and employees to gather feedback. Their input has been crucial in identifying the qualities needed in the cooperative’s next leader.
“Landus is at an important turning point,” says Matt Chambers, Board Chairman. “Sam’s leadership has given us a strong foundation to navigate this challenging transition and move forward with confidence. While our search for a CEO is nationwide, one thing is non-negotiable — the core of our business is here in Iowa, and the success of Landus’ farmers must be at the heart of cooperative decisions.”
Landus is seeking a forward-thinking, proven leader who understands the key role cooperatives play in supporting Iowa farms and rural communities. This individual must be able to earn the trust of stakeholders and confidently guide the cooperative through the evolving agricultural economy.
In recent years, Landus has invested heavily in the cooperative’s infrastructure and in technology that helps farmers manage risk and grow more efficiently. The next CEO will be tasked with building on this progress while staying grounded in the cooperative’s long-standing values.
During the search, Caton will continue to serve as interim CEO. Landus remains focused on delivering value to its farmer-owners, supporting employees, and investing in the future of agriculture in Iowa through the transition.
The Board has engaged Medallion Partners, a national executive search firm, to lead the confidential process. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Medallion at confidential@medallionpartnersinc.com.
