The Ogden softball team delivered a pair of wins on their home field Wednesday, June 25, sweeping a West Central Conference doubleheader against Woodward-Granger with scores of 7-6 and 5-4.

Game 1: Ogden 7, Woodward-Granger 6

After falling behind 5-0 in the top of the first and trailing 6-0 after two innings, Ogden mounted a comeback.

The Bulldogs chipped away with four runs in the fourth, then added one run in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to win.

Grace Christensen sparked the offense with two hits, a run, and a stolen base.

Adi Banks doubled and drove in a run.

Aubrey Leonard, Camryn Askelsen, and Clara Kruse each had two hits, with Askelsen and Kruse also scoring.

Katie Wilcoxson pitched a complete game and earned the win with four strikeouts.

Game 2: Ogden 5, Woodward-Granger 4

The nightcap was just as exciting.

Trailing 4-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, Leonard crushed a walk-off home run—her second homer of the game—to lift Ogden to a sweep.

Leonard finished with two home runs, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Askelsen added two hits and an RBI.

Breaunna Wenger and Lauren Mathews each contributed a hit, with Wenger driving in a run.

Wilcoxson again went the distance in the circle, picking up her second win of the night with one strikeout.

The victories pushed Ogden to 13-11 overall and 9-8 in conference play, while Woodward-Granger dropped to 14-9 overall and 8-7 in the conference.

Ogden now turns its attention to a road doubleheader at Des Moines Christian (12-9 overall, 9-5 conference) tonight, weather permitting.
