The Boone baseball team scored a pair of victories last week, rolling past Hampton-Dumont-CAL and edging out Bondurant-Farrar in a Raccoon River Conference matchup.

Boone 10, Hampton-Dumont-CAL 0

Boone lit up the scoreboard on Thursday, July 3, shutting out Hampton-Dumont-CAL in a commanding 10-0 non-conference win.

The Toreadors broke the game open with a 3-run third inning, added 2 more in the fourth, and sealed the deal with a 5-run explosion in the sixth.

Cole Bowers led the charge with 2 hits, 3 RBIs, and a run scored, while Luke Moore was electric at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs, 2 runs, a double, and a stolen base.

Reid Carr crossed the plate three times and added 2 hits, and Tyler Lindahl, Tate Carlson, and Noah Davies all contributed key hits and runs.

On the mound, Conor Scoggins was struck out 8 in a complete game shutout.

Boone 4, Bondurant-Farrar 3

In a tighter contest, Boone edged out Bondurant-Farrar 4-3 in a conference battle Wednesday, July 2.

The Toreadors scored in three straight innings—one in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth—to secure the win.

Dylan England led the offense with 3 doubles, 2 RBIs, and a run scored.

Luke Moore added 2 hits and a run, while Tate Carlson drove in a key run.

Boone’s offense was supported by solid contributions from Davies, Bowers, and Carr, each collecting a hit.

Walker Smith went the distance on the mound, striking out 3 to earn the complete game victory.

With these wins, Boone improves to 18-9 overall and 7-6 in the Raccoon River Conference.

The Toreadors will look to keep their momentum rolling as they head to Winterset (12-15 overall, 5-7 conference) for a conference game tonight at 7 p.m.
